I'm sorry to have been so long in writing this column. However, after much thought and consideration, I've decided to retire the CHN. I've shared my morning coffee with many of you for over ten years, beginning with email distribution before moving to this website. What began as electronic pod news became the AiDE and finally the Chili Hot News. It was intended as a way to share news about cooks, promote cookoffs, and generally build our community. It fit the times.

After a couple of thousand CHN columns, I believe the world has evolved. When the CHN began, there were a large number of chili cooks without email. We've come a long way. Now, there is a huge electronic chili family on Facebook and news is truly instant. Pictures and results of cookoffs are available as they happen.

If you're not on Facebook, c'mon over and let's all be friends. That's where we can share and promote all of our chili-ness.
