RESULTS & UPCOMINGS
“On behalf of the Black Gold Pod, we would like to thank all those who traveled to Snyder (that would be everyone since Tim and Connie are the only ones who lived there) for the Pod Cook-off. With the cost of fuel we know it was a sacrifice to make the trip an it was greatly appreciated.

Tim and I were very excited by all the cooks who made the trip to Snyder for the Black Gold Cookoff weekend. This weekend was the first cook-offs in Snyder and the public was very impressed both Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for helping us make it a success. We were amazed by all those who pitched in to help us whenever we need it. The list is too long and I think it would include every cook that attended. We would like to thank all who stayed to cook on Sunday for the (headless) Buffalo Bronze (ask Tim about it next time you see him) or one of Tim's famous rocks. The Snyder Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary were shocked at the money raised by a chili cook-off.

RESULTS & UPCOMINGS
“Chiligula smiled on the Chillini Pod last Saturday, May 20, 2006. After two weeks of dreary, rainy weather, the sky cleared and we had one of those sunny seventy-fives Illinois is "famous" for. Twenty-four cooks braved the sunny skies and mild temperatures to compete in the fourteenth Chillini Pod Championship. Things went so smoothly, even the county Health Department inspector was impressed with cooks and setup. A good time was had by all, and especially these thirteen people:

It was good to see Jason and Janessa again. They came out to a cookoff two years ago and we all captured them. Signed them up for CASI and Sot Pod. We had not seen them in a while. Jason had been attending the Police Academy and he is now graduated. Says we will see more of them.
Our "storm chaser" great nephew Jason Doss and his buddy Jacob Petrikot came out to lst time cook on Saturday. They had visited at Texas Mens and decided "there is nothing to this." Hope they will come back. Neal(Jason's mother) was very happy to help and hover.
A new Show and Chili Team arrived early and had the time of their lives. Lone Star Special. A young group headed up by James Korrodi and sponsored by Lone Star Beer. Whoa. Offered me a free cold Lone Star at 8:30 in the morning. Now how could I refuse. Then had to be the Mama and explain they could not give out alcoholic beverages during show time. Which they complied. They are already geared up to come to the next one. Ann (can't remember he last name), called her Mother and said you have to come out here."I can't believe how nice these folks are to us." So isn't that what it really it all about?
