“Reminder—The 21st Annual Mexico International Chili Championship held in Piedras Negras, Mexico is only a couple of weeks away. If anyone has been waiting until the last minute, or if your plans have changed and you would like to go on this fun filled weekend extravaganza and international chili championship, now is the time to make your reservation.
The bus trip leaves San Marcos on Friday morning the 3rd of February and returns on Sunday the 5th of February. A very special first time cooks party is in the works for Friday night and the fun will be non stop all weekend! “Barbara Benold's mother, Winnie Boesch, passed away this morning, January 18th, in Dripping Springs. Mrs. Boesch had reached the age of ninety. Barbara said her mother had lived a full, rich life and was ready for the angels to take her to heaven to be with her husband who passed away 39 years ago. Mrs. Boesch had recently moved into an assisted living quarters after having lived with Barbara and her family since they relocated from Houston to the Dripping Springs area. Services for Mrs. Boesch will be held Saturday, January 21st, at 3:00 p.m. at the Forrest Park Westheimer Chapel in Houston. Please keep Barbara, Mike and their family in your prayers.” (Carolyn Seelig)

“Sharon Neff had a heart attack on Thursday morning. She & Mel were in Irving when it happened and she was taken to Irving Baylor Hospital, where a stint was put in to open the blocked aorta. I saw her on Friday afternoon and she is doing well, looking to be discharged from the hospital on Sunday. Terri is watching after them both. They will stay in Irving for awhile. Direct your good thoughts, hopes, karma, prayers, and positive vibes in Sharon's direction.” (Dale Reinecker)
