NEWS

I believe a significant event happened over the weekend. I haven’t officially received any results from Ruidoso yet, but I heard that Hut Brown won the cookoff. The CASI rules were amended, at the Great Peppers Meeting, to say that the winner of a state championship will automatically qualify for TICC, regardless of residency. If the report was correct, Hut will be the first to qualify by this new rule. Congratulations, Hut!

“Well it has been a while in the works but the Black Gold Chili web site is finally up and running
www.blackgoldchili.com. If you are on a dial up ISP it may take a while to load the pages the first time you visit as there are some large photographs on the site. We are still looking for photos from past cook-offs for show and interesting items that you would like to see posted. Since we are doing show at most of the bigger cook-offs we do not normally get to take these so we are looking for your help in getting some good photos. Both Robbie and I have started using the e-mail address associated with the web site as our primary e-mail so please use either of the address below to contact us and send the photos. robbie@blackgoldchili.com and ken@blackgoldchili.com. We will be updating the web site on a regular basis so come by and check it out from time to time. We hope that everyone got the points they needed last year and we wish you good luck in the new chili year. See you in Terlingua.” (Ken Swart)
